Stripe

The most common payment platform integrated in automation workflows. Stripe webhooks trigger invoice creation, dunning sequences, subscription management, and revenue reporting automations.

Expert insight

Stripe webhooks can arrive out of order or be delivered more than once (Stripe's own documentation states this explicitly), so a workflow that assumes "payment_succeeded" always arrives before "payment_failed" for the same payment, or that a webhook only ever fires once, will eventually process an event incorrectly. Idempotency keys and order-independent logic are not optional for payment workflows.

In a real workflow

A Stripe "invoice.paid" webhook updates the CRM and unlocks access to the product.

Common mistakes

  • Not verifying Stripe webhook signatures.
  • Handling only the success events and ignoring failures and refunds.
