Merge (data)
Combining two or more data sets into a single output. In automation: merging customer data from CRM with order history from Shopify to create a unified customer profile that feeds into a personalised email.
Expert insight
Merging data from two sources with overlapping but not identical schemas requires an explicit decision about which source wins when both have a value for the same field, a merge without this decision made deliberately falls back to whatever the tool's default behavior happens to be, which is rarely documented and rarely what anyone intended.
How PURIST uses this
This concept is built into every automation we deploy.
When PURIST builds your automation, Merge (data) is not an optional consideration it is part of the production standard. Our workflows are tested against edge cases, monitored 24/7, and built to handle what happens when things don't go as expected.
Every client workflow we deploy in the Data category is designed with this principle in mind from day one not added as an afterthought.
