Query (database)
A request for specific data from a database. Automation workflows often query databases directly "give me all clients whose subscription renews in the next 7 days" to drive targeted communication campaigns.
Expert insight
A query that works fine against a small test database can perform very differently at production data volume, a query without a proper index that scans every row is invisible in testing with 50 records and a serious bottleneck at 500,000. Query performance should be validated against realistic production-scale data before a workflow goes live.

A SQL query selects all customers whose renewal date is in the next 30 days.
