Schema
The structure and data types of an API response or database table. Understanding a tool's schema is essential for data mapping you need to know what fields exist before you can use them in a workflow.
Expert insight
A schema defines the shape data is expected to have, but most no-code automation tools don't enforce schemas at runtime, they'll happily pass a string where a number was expected until the receiving system rejects it. Validating data against the expected schema before sending it downstream catches these mismatches before they become a support ticket.

A schema defines that an order has an ID, total, currency and items, so invalid data is rejected early.
